The Adult Evening School of the Mercer County Technical Schools provides courses that are designed to upgrade the present skill level of the student, acquaint the student with recent changes and the latest techniques that have become used within the respective occupational area, and provide entry-level training for new employment or career change.

Mercer County Technical Schools’ mission is to produce a community of inspired, compassionate learners who are knowledgeable, and skilled and possess the competencies that will prepare them for success in an ever-changing technological world. We provide our students with educational opportunities in preparing for careers in business and industry while emphasizing a culture of personal attention that focuses on the individual learner. Our goal is to foster a school climate that emphasizes the importance of the teaching-learning process and provides youth and adults the opportunities to maximize their potential, reflect and offer solutions to challenges posed by society.

Career Technical Education

Career and Technical Education (CTE) is an educational option that provides learners the opportunity to earn industry-valued credentials, college credit, and workplace experiences incorporating a rigorous academic core coupled with a high-level technical curriculum. 70% of CTE students attend post-secondary education. CTE students have a 93% graduation rate compared to the national average of 80%. A CTE student will make twice as much money as a student with a high school diploma.

Our students earn college credit while still in high school and gain practical skills for life or any career. Articulation Agreements with The Art Institute of Philadelphia, The Culinary Institute of America, Mercer County Community College, and other schools allow students to earn valuable college credit upon the successful completion of high school classes.
